Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - High School Library - 6:00 - Community Input Meeting
 
All parents are invited to attend a meeting held by Administration and the Board of Education to give input into the following topics;
 
*   Facilities
           a.   Middle School - a facility review of the Middle School from Tower Pinkster (architects) will be available for review.  Discussion will take place
                 regarding the possibility of asking voters to approve a millage request of $0 and 0 years to make approximately $6,000,000 available to use
                 in the Middle School area.  The 0/0 request would be available due the current bonds being refinanced three times and the savings which has
                 resulted from refinancing.
 
           b.   Sweetland Stadium - a community group has asked to raise money for improvements to Sweetland Stadium.  As a result, we'll have some 
                 options to look at prior to the group proceeding with their fundraising campaign.
 
*   School Safety
            a.   The District will review options the District is looking at to improve school safety (entryway & camera's) and get input regarding other issues 
                  parents would like to see reviewed.
            b.   Drug Testing - the District is considering drug testing students participating in extra-curricular activities next year and would like to hear what
                  parents think of this idea.
            c.   Student Schedule - their will be discussion about the District consideration of moving start/finish times back next year.
 
*   School Curriculum
            a.   Transition Room - the District is considering implementing Transition rooms for students between Kindergarten and 1st Grade for those not 
                  ready for 1st Grade after the first year of Kindergarten. 
            b.   Possibility of a Welding Program through Southwestern Community College located at the High School.
